We hate cookies ;-). Switched to <a href="https://mastodontech.de/tags/linux_mint" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linux_mint</span></a> because of this. I started with dual boot, but I haven't used Windows in several months.</p>

I do hope Mint devs will make it. <br>Although I am not running <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/linux_mint" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linux_mint</span></a> anymore, the release looks good, so I wish them success!</p>
Alex, Nevertheless<p>The <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/linux_mint" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linux_mint</span></a> user tutorial starts with "Let's get you used to using Linux. Try changing your window colors and the shape of your cursor."</p><p>I love it already. So much friendlier than "set up OneDrive!! [yes/later]"</p>
Yoshimatsu ✅🇺🇸 🇺🇦<p>Thanks to all who replied to my query re: <a href="https://toot.community/tags/Linux_Mint" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux_Mint</span></a>. Many were right on the mark and suggested <a href="https://toot.community/tags/SWMgr" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SWMgr</span></a> for <a href="https://toot.community/tags/Thunderbird" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Thunderbird</span></a>, others were quick to recommend using <a href="https://toot.community/tags/terminal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>terminal</span></a> w/ obtuse <a href="https://toot.community/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> commands and few suggested different flavor of <a href="https://toot.community/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a>. Surprisingly, there were few <a href="https://toot.community/tags/know" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>know</span></a>-it-all who just flouted their superiority.</p><p>Now, I can't find <a href="https://toot.community/tags/Tor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tor</span></a> in <a href="https://toot.community/tags/SWMgr" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SWMgr</span></a>. Looking on the <a href="https://toot.community/tags/Tor_Project" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tor_Project</span></a> site, I d/l the <a href="https://toot.community/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> pkg and it doesn't install a browser. Any clues? Thanks.</p>
Yoshimatsu ✅🇺🇸 🇺🇦<p><a href="https://toot.community/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> is like a Chinese copy of an <a href="https://toot.community/tags/OS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OS</span></a> with poorly written documentation and badly fitting parts. I'm trying to load <a href="https://toot.community/tags/Mozilla" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mozilla</span></a> <a href="https://toot.community/tags/Thunderbird" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Thunderbird</span></a> on <a href="https://toot.community/tags/Linux_Mint" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux_Mint</span></a> but the instructions are gibberish. e.g. instructions say following libraries or packages are needed:<br>glibc 2.17 or higher<br>GTK+ 3.14 or higher<br>libdbus-glib 0.6.0 or higher<br>libglib 2.42 or higher<br>libstdc++ 4.8.1 or higher<br>libxtst 1.2.3 or higher<br>X.Org 1.0 or higher</p><p>Why isn't there a way to check if my Mint install already has them?</p>
Ur Ya'ar<p>I am also making the move of buying a Windowsless laptop. <br />I need to decide what <a href="https://tooot.im/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>linux</span></a> distribution I want to install. I&#39;ve been using <a href="https://tooot.im/tags/linux_mint" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>linux_mint</span></a> since I&#39;ve got the desktop, but I sort of want to try something new. Been thinking of giving <a href="https://tooot.im/tags/gnome" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>gnome</span></a> a try, either with <a href="https://tooot.im/tags/fedora" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>fedora</span></a> , which is &quot;vanilla gnome&quot;, or with <a href="https://tooot.im/tags/pop_OS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>pop_OS</span></a> which has implemented features that I&#39;m already used to in my workflow (and is still ubuntu-based so not very different).</p>
