It will be interesting to see how this plays out on #OpenBSD. I wonder when KDE/GNOME abandons X if CDE will become the official #DE for #OpenBSD.

In the early 90s, people were begging the Motif people to re-license Motif (thus CDE). Look now, Motif/CDE is pretty close to irrelevance. They finally released the source, but few people knows or uses it.

Back then, Motif had a lot of great applications, they missed a big opportunity. What could have been if they opened up :)
